GETTING STARTED
Remove all packaging materials including those that may be inside the toasting slots or Toasting Lever
slot. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and thoroughly buff dry. Make sure that the Crumb Tray is
locked into position on the bottom of the toaster and that the Toasting Lever is in the UP position.
Unwrap the power cord from the cord storage area, located on the underside of the toaster. Insert the
plug into a the electrical mains outlet. Turn the Variable Browning Control Dial to 1 (this is the lightest
setting).
Lower the Toasting Lever until it locks into place. Operate the toaster without bread once or twice to
pre-heat the new elements and burn off any dust as well as manufacturing residue.
NOTE: The Toasting Lever will not lock down unless the toaster is plugged into a 220-240V electrical
outlet. You may notice a slight amount of smoke - this is normal and will stop as the heating elements
continue to heat up.
TOASTER OPERATION
• Make sure that the Crumb Tray is locked into position on the bottom of the toaster and that the
Toasting Lever is in the UP position
• Check inside the Toasting Slots to ensure that there is no bread or any other object inside
• Place the toaster on a flat, level, heat resistant surface
• Plug the power cord into the mains electrical outlet
• Position the Variable Browning Control Dial to the desired setting. Level 1 is the lightest, moving up
to level 6 which is the darkest. If you are not sure of the level, start at a low level and increase it as
you become more familiar with the appliance
• Remove all protective wrappings from food before placing into the Toasting Slots.
• Avoid toasting torn bread slices or small pieces of toaster food that may get lodged in Toasting
Slots
• Insert bread into the Toasting Slots. Lower the Toasting Lever until it is locked into place. Once
locked into place, toasting will begin until the desired browning level and toast colour is achieved.
Note: when toasting a single slice, the bread may be placed in any Toasting Slot. To prevent a fire
hazard, never place bread over the opening of the toaster; always place bread into the slots.
• To interrupt toasting, press the Cancel button. Do not change the Variable Browning Control Dial
selection during the toasting cycle. First press the Cancel button and start the process again – select
the Variable Browning Control Dial position and lower the Toasting Lever until it is locked into place
• Once the toast reaches the selected browning level, it will pop up automatically. The toaster will
also turn OFF automatically
• Remove bread from the Toasting Slots. Use care when removing toast as the bread and the
accessible stainless steel areas of the toaster will still be hot
IMPORTANT:
Never use a fork or sharp-edged metal utensil to attempt to remove toast. This
may damage the heating element or cause injury
• Unplug the power cord from wall outlet when not in use
