Introduction
The HotHead phono M is a stand alone phono stage for use with moving magnet and high output moving
coil phono cartridges. It applies suitable amplification and equalisation for the output to be fed into the
Aux or Line input of a pre or integrated amplifier.
An all discrete design utilising JFET transistors delivers ultra low noise performance. Absence of negative
feedback throughout gives a clarity, transparency and sheer joy to your vinyl listening, without
compromising on linearity and stability.
Fixed gain of 42 dB ( x 126) accommodates cartridge outputs from typically 1.6mv to 10mv. Input loading is a
nominal 47 k
Ω
and 220 pF. Low output impedance of nominal 30
Ω
allows most follow on stages to be driven
with ease.
