2.3.3 Details of rear panel connections

REF IN – External reference

Connect an NTSC or PAL reference signal (SMPTE 170M / SMPTE 318M / ITU 624-4 black burst)

3G/HD/SD IN – Serial digital 3G/HD/SD inputs

Connect serial digital video signals, conforming to the SMPTE 425M standard for 3G input signals, SMPTE 292M
standard for HD input signals or SMPTE 259M standard for SD input signals, to the connectors labeled

3G/HD/SD IN

3G/HD/SD OUT – Serial digital video outputs

The IPG-3901 provides two 3G/HD/SD SDI video outputs on the connectors labeled

3G/HD/SD OUT 1 and 2.

The

SDI video signal conforms to the input standard. The same signal is carried on both outputs.

3G/HD/SD SDI I/O – Serial digital 3G/HD/SD input or output (configurable)

Seven configurable I/O are provided. The SDI signal requirements are the same as those for the dedicated inputs and
outputs as described above.

10 GbE ETH – 10 GigE Ethernet on fiber (SFP+ Interfaces)

Two 10 Gb Ethernet interfaces (each with Tx and Rx) on optical fiber or twinax cable. SFP+ modules and matching
fiber or electrical connectors are required for the interface.
