Software Specifications

There are three additional keywords follow the TEXT segment: @EOFVERSION, REFERENCE and
@Acquisition Protocol Offset. These keywords are delimited by the “!” character and are not
contained within the offsets specified for the TEXT segment. These keywords are reserved for
Beckman Coulter’s use only.

DATA Segment

The DATA segment contains the 20 bit, uncompensated raw data produced by the instrument. Each
event contains data for the parameters specified in the TEXT segment. The number of parameters
per event is specified by the value of the $PAR keyword. The order of the parameters within each
event is specified by the parameter indices used in the TEXT segment. The parameter data has a 20
bit range and it occupies 32 bits (4 bytes) in the file. The parameters are aligned to the byte
boundary. The data for each parameter is right justified with 12 bits of padding in front in little
endian order, meaning that the least significant byte goes first.

Following, there is the ordered list of parameters as reported by the cytometer. Up to a maximum
of 16 parameters from this list can be collected. Parameter indices are assigned incrementally
starting from 1 following the order listed.
