If no type is available, this field indicates nothing.
**** This latch serves both as DATA LINK or GPS indicator. If DATA LINK switch in
section SPECIALS is selected then this latch indicates either DATA LINK or GPS er-
ror. Otherwise GPS error is indicated if GPS receiver is connected.
10. Checking after installation
A. General
After the installation, check the transponder to ensure satisfactory operation
of the unit.
B. Pre-flight check using selftest
Power-on test:
Switch the transponder operating mode switch from OFF to SBY. A power-on
built-in test (PBIT) is automatically activated for 1 second. During the test
“WAIT is indicated. If the test was successful, the transponder automatically
switches to the SBY mode.
Initiatet test (IBIT) :
Press the SEL and STO button at the same time in mode ON or ALT. A IBIT
test is activated. During the test, “IBIT” is indicated on the display. If the IBIT
was successful, the transponder switches immediately into the normal opera-
ting mode.
In case of a fault “FAILURE” report appears in the display. In this case acti-
vate the procedur “9. Settings after intsallation” page 2-7 in this manual. In
the table “error latches” the failure is displayed.
