Six reports are available:
•
Slide Results — For a given print set, lists results for all slides. (See Section 12.2.1 for
examples of these reports).
• Review Report — For a given print set, lists all slides designated Review.
(See Section 12.3.2 for an example of this report).
• QC Review Report — For a given print set, lists all slides selected for QC Review plus a
limited number of Review slides. (See Section 12.3.3 for an example of this report). For
additional information, see Section 14.2.
• Archive Report — For a given print set, lists results slides designated to No Further Review.
(See Section 12.2.1 for examples of these reports).
• Process Review Report — For a given print set, lists all slides that were designated
Process Review . (See Section 12.3.5 for an example of this report.)
• Rerun Report — For a given print set, lists all slides that were designated Rerun . (See
Section 12.3.6 for an example of this report.)
These reports are very similar in appearance and the same column headings appear on every
report. The arrangement and content of a report can be varied by choosing specific sorting and
layout options. The following section, Sort Order and Layout Options (Section 14.1.1), describes
the various report sorting and layout options in detail.
14.1.1 Sort Order and Layout Options
This section describes the sorting and layout options available for the slide result reports. As an
aid in understanding layout and sorting options, refer to Section 12, which contains examples of
slide result reports.
Sort Order
A report can be sorted in one of three ways: rank, barcode, or date. As much as practicable,
each type of report contains this information—use these options to sort the reports as needed.
Whichever sort order is selected depends entirely on the workflow of your laboratory. Most labs
would probably print at least one review report sorted by rank and possibly one of the Slide
Result reports sorted by barcode or date. It all depends on how the reports will be incorporated
with the laboratory’s workflow. For some reports, one of three layout options can also be applied
to the report (see Layout later in this section).
Some sorting options are not appropriate for certain report types and the system software
prevents making an inappropriate combination of sorting options, report types, and layout
options. For example, when selecting a Slide Results report with the Tray option selected, the
Sort Order field is dimmed. The Tray option is available only when sorting reports by date.
Layout
The term layout refers to how the slide results are presented on a report. One of two layouts can
be selected: slide or tray. Once a layout is selected, the appropriate sorting options can be
applied as described in Sort Order, above. Whichever layout is selected depends on your needs.
Most labs use the slide layout to print reports containing slide results sorted in the manner
required by your workflow.
14.1.2 Defining a Report
Use the following procedure to define a report. Although most labs determine which reports best
suit their needs and set their report types only once, Report Types can be changed any time a
different report is required. Each report that is defined and added to the Report Type list in the
Report Type drop down window is automatically printed when Print is selected from the Report
window.
