The display features shown in figure 2 are the only features available on the handset.
Light conditions may cause other display features to be seen on the handset. These are
NOT available on this model and can be ignored.
To light the fire.

the on-off button
(The word ‘ON’ will now start to flash in the top left hand
corner of the display screen).

Press
the ‘SET’ button. The L.E.D. light on the bottom left hand side of the fire will
illuminate and a small twin flame symbol will flash on the handset. The flame symbol
will stop flashing when the ignition sequence has been completed. When the ‘SET’
button is pressed there will be a slight delay and several sparks should be seen between
the electrode and pilot tip. These should ignite the gas at the pilot and burner. The fire
will always light on heat setting 1. If the pilot and burner do not light then the fire will
have to be turned off before attempting to light again. See ‘To turn off’ section below.
Repeat the lighting procedure. The pilot and burner should now light.
To turn off.

the ‘SET’ button. The L.E.D. light on the bottom left hand side of the fire will
illuminate. The word ‘OFF’ will now be displayed. If the pilot and burner do not
extinguish then the handset will display the word ‘OFF’ even though the fire is still lit.
The handset will have to be set to ‘ON’. To do this follow the steps in the ‘To light the
fire’ section above. Once the handset displays the word ‘ON’ follow the procedure
above to turn off.

While cooling, the fuel effect may make some crackling noises. This is quite
normal.
The fire is fitted with a manual ‘OFF’ button.
This is located behind the front cover.
To gain access to it lower the bottom front cover. To do this, support the top edges of
the lower front cover and pull gently (See figure 5). The button is next to the battery
box above the LED light.
If it has been necessary to operate the button due to battery failure in the handset or
heat engine, then ensure that the batteries are replaced as in the ‘Fitting batteries to the
remote control handset’ and ‘Fitting batteries to the heat engine’ sections of this guide.
Burner operation.
Once the fire is lit the hanset will display the word ‘ON’ and a small symbol with two
flames. The burner flame can be increased by pressing the
button and decreased by
pressing the
button. There are three heat settings to choose from and these are
shown on the handset by flame size (See figure 3). The L.E.D. light on the bottom left
