The Perfect Trolling Reel
The new Snaggin Special Trolling reel is designed for the rigors of your
trolling needs.
This classic round reel features a stainless steel ball bearing
drive, a lightweight, strong graphite frame, machined anodized
aluminum spool, and a powerful drag system.
Features and Operational Instructions
Bait Clicker
The bait clicker is located on the left side of the reel. The purpose
of the clicker is to serve as an audible alarm when trolling.
Graphite Frame
&
AIuminum Spool
The lightweight graphite frame design makes this one of the most
durable, solid frames available. The spool is made from
lightweight aluminum for reduced weight and longer casts and has
been anodized to protect from corrosion.
Cast Control Knob
The cast control knob is located on the handle side under the star
drag. lts purpose is to apply continuous friction to the end of the
spool shaft, assisting the centrifugal brake system in maintaining
the correct spool speed to prevent backlashes.
To set the cast control, tie on your lure and reel it to the tip of
the rod. Tighten the knob until it feels snug. Push the thumb bar.
Your lure should not move. Hold the rod at 2 o’clock position and
more than one revolution, tighten the cast control knob and
repeat the procedure. lf the spool does not spin after the lure hits
the ground, the cast control is set too tight. Loosen the knob and
repeat the procedure.
Star Drag
The powerful star drag gives you the power needed to fight the
biggest fish. The drag will not slip, even when wet. The large
drag discs provide a smooth flow of line at any setting.
The star drag is located just under the reel handle. To adjust
simply turn forward to tighten.
Metal Line Guide
The line guide has been made from a strong meral alloy to stand
up to extreme conditions.
Care and Lubrication
Your new Snaggin Special reel is designed to provide years of
dependable service. But like any other precision machine,
periodic cleaningand maintenance is required for continued
performance.
Reels made today require both a lightweight oil and grease to
perform smoothly. Oil and grease should be used sparingly, too
much can have a negative impact on reel performance. There are
lightweight oils and greases made especially for fishing reels.
Oil should be applied to the worm gear, and the crank shaft.
Grease should be applied to the ball bearing, drive gears, crank
gears, the pinion gears, and all the bushings.
After each trip, the reel should be checked for dirt or sand. If it
has been exposed to saltwater, the spool should be removed and
the entire reel rinsed with water. Dry with a soft cloth and
lubricate the reel as described above.
