The EFFECTS LOOP is provided to facilitate connecting external effects to your rig. Using shielded
cables, connect the SEND jack to the input of the effects unit and its output to the RETURN jack.
Tip: In-circuit, the loop is between the xm100’s internal preamp and its power amplifier. As a
result the Send jack can alternatively (i.e. if you are not connecting effects) double as an addition-
al (post-EQ) line-level output and the Return jack as an isolating input to the power amp. As a
result, for example, the Return could be connected to the line level monitor output of a mixer thus
converting the XM100 to a monitor. (Please note that the volume and tone of external sources
are not controlled by the xm100). Here, the Line / DI Output set for Post EQ (or possibly the EFX
Send jack) would be connected to a channel on the mixer so that everything including bass folds
back into the XM100’s power amp and speaker.

When a headphone or other stereo plug is connected here, the amplifier’s internal speaker is dis-
connected. This feature would generally be used for silent practicing through headphones, however
the jack may alternatively be used as a line output.
Tip: Use a stereo plug or the output will be nullified.

The blue Power LED below the ON switch will illuminate when the unit is on. If the xm100 fails function
when the switch is engaged, check the AC connection and make sure the outlet is working (plug in
something else). If necessary the xm100’s internal fuse can be accessed and replaced by a technician.
