3.6.2 EMERGENCY STOP
Cables
EMERGENCY STOP cables, located on each side of wash chamber,
instantly stop washer operation when pulled (see Figure 3-5). Pull on
either cable to stop washer.
NOTE: After EMERGENCY STOP cable is activated, washer must be
reinitialized using LOCK/UNLOCK/INIT key switch.
3.6.3 EMERGENCY STOP

EMERGENCY STOP
pushbutton(s) located under load side opera-
tor terminal and if double-door unit, on unload side operator terminal,
instantly stop washer operation when pressed (see Figure 3-5).
EMERGENCY STOP
pushbutton(s) cut off electrical power to con-
trol only and completely depressurize unit.
NOTE: After pulling out
EMERGENCY STOP
pushbutton, washer
must be reinitialized using
LOCK/UNLOCK/INIT
key switch.
IMPORTANT:
If Safety latch was lowered, return Safety latch into
position before initializing washer.
3.6.4 Safety Latches
There are two Safety latches to open the sliding doors in an emer-
gency situation. One safety latch is inside wash chamber and the
other is in the service area (on door counterweight guide). Safety
latches should be lowered to open door in case of a power/air fail-
ure. Before using safety latch EMERGENCY STOP pushbutton must
be pushed or EMERGENCY STOP Cables must be pulled.
Return Safety latch to vertical position before resetting the key using
LOCK/UNLOCK/INIT Switch.
3.6.5 Audible Alarm Signal
An audible alarm signal sounds during the first three seconds when
doors open.
3.6.6 Safety Delay
An adjustable safety delay (0 to 60 seconds) during which washer
sounds an alarm signal has been provided. Audible alarm signal
warns operator to leave wash chamber before cycle starts. Default
safety delay is 15 seconds and is adjustable in Service mode by a
STERIS or STERIS-trained technician only (refer to
