Intended use
1.
This product is designed to supply electric devices such as notebooks or netbooks with power. The connected
load’s current consumption must not exceed the maximum output rating of the product. Power is supplied via a
standard mains socket (100 – 240 V/AC, 50/60 Hz). The product should only be used in dry indoor areas. The
product features both short-circuit and overload protection.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product
for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can
cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them.

Sufficient ventilation is essential when operating the product. Do not cover the product. Never place the
•
product on a table cloth or on a carpet. Place it on a hard, flame resistant base.
The product should not be used immediately after it has been brought from an area of cold temperature to
•
an area of warm temperature. Condensed water might destroy the product. Wait until the product adapts to
the new ambient temperature before use.
Make sure that the output of the power adapter is not short-circuited.
•
Never pour liquids over electrical appliances and never leave objects filled with liquids (e.g. vases) on it or
•
in the vicinity. There is a high risk of fire or life-threatening electric shock.
Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of
•
injury.
When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
•
The plug must be pulled out of the socket under the following conditions:

support service or other technical personnel.
Operation
4.
Disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket before replacing the output plug.
The power adapter’s output voltage must match the input voltage of the electric
consumer.
Never turn the voltage selection switch during operation. This can damage any load that is
connected (a radio or walkman or the like), on one hand, and destroy the power supply unit
by contact-breaking sparks on the switching contacts, on the other. Do not use unsuitable
tools to make settings. Only use the adjusting tool which is included. When making
settings always be sure the arrow points accurately to the respective voltage marking.
Set the required output voltage with the voltage selection switch on the back of the device, using the voltage
1.
setting key.
Select an output plug that matches the input socket and input voltage of the electric consumer (see table).
2.
Connect the output plug to the connector at the end of the output cable. Voltage reversal of the output plug
3.
is not possible for security reasons. The inner contact is positive (+), the outer negative (–).
Connect the output plug to the switched-off consumer.
4.
Connect the power cord’s plug with the matching socket of the power adapter.
5.
Connect the mains plug to a standard mains socket (100 – 240 V/AC, 50/60 Hz). The LED on the top of the
6.
power supply unit indicates operational readiness.
Put the power adapter onto a solid, flame-retardant surface and ensure that the power adapter is sufficiently
7.
ventilated.
Now switch the connected consumer on. If it does not function properly, switch it off immediately and
8.
disconnect it from the power adapter.
Remove the power adapter from the mains when it is no longer in use.
9.
Cleaning
5.
When cleaning, the power adapter must be disconnected from mains socket and electrical loads.
•
Only use dry and soft cloth to clear the housing of the power adapter.
•
Do not use abrasive or solvents.
•
Disposal
6.
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory
regulations.
