Operation
Do not reach into the input slot.
Do not insert paper clips, staples or other metal parts into the input slot.
If you have long hair, ensure that you keep a sufficient distance from the input slot. Ties,
scarves, loose clothing and long necklaces or bracelets must be kept away from the input slot.
Do not use spray bottles/cans in the immediate vicinity of the product.
Do not let the product run continuously for more than 2 minutes, as this may cause the motor
to overheat.
If the collection container becomes full before the 2 minutes have elapsed, switch off the pro-
duct.
Empty the collection container before using it again. If you have used the device for longer
than 2 minutes in continuous operation, leave it for at least 60 minutes before using it again.
a) Installation
• Take all parts out of their packaging and remove any plastic foil.
• Hang the small collection container for credit cards/CDs/DVDs on the holders in front of the
large collection container.
• Place the cutting unit on the large collection container. Pay attention to the notches on
the collection container. The cutting unit must fit exactly into the notches on the collection
container. The input slot for credit cards/CDs/DVDs

must be located directly above the
small collection container. Do not place your fingers between the collection container and
the cutting unit, and ensure that the mains cable is not pinched.
b) Positioning and connection
• Place the product on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.
• Make sure that the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch

is in the central
OFF
position.
• Connect the mains plug to a standard mains socket.
c) Shredding paper
Insert a maximum of 7 sheets of DIN A4 paper with a maximum grammage of
70 g/m
2
into the input slot.
Do not shred sticky notes or paper with sticky residue.
• Slide the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch

to the left to the
AUTO
position.
• Carefully insert the paper into the input slot
(4)
. The paper will be automatically fed into the
cutting unit and shredded. When shredding paper that is smaller than the maximum input
tray width, always insert the paper in the centre of the paper tray.
•
The shredder stops automatically when it has finished shredding.
• If the paper becomes jammed, press the
CLEAR
button

to clear the blockage. The
inserted sheet/sheets will be shredded and pulled into the collection container.
•
After you have finished shredding, move the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch to the
central
OFF
position.
d) Shredding credit cards and CDs/DVDs
Shred a maximum of one credit card/CD/DVD at a time.
• Slide the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch

to the right to the
REV
position (
and CD
Credit Card
).
• Open the cover of the credit card/CD input slot

.
• Carefully insert a single credit card or CD/DVD into the input slot. The credit card or CD/
DVD will be automatically collected and shredded. To ensure that the magnetic strip is
shredded, start by inserting the wide side of the credit card into the input slot.
• In the event of a blockage when shredding a card or CD, press the
CLEAR
button

to
clear the blockage. The card/CD will be ejected without being shredded.
•
After you have finished, move the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch to the central
OFF
position.
• Replace the cover of the input slot.
e) Clearing a paper jam
The product is equipped with a motor protection function that is triggered when the shredder
has been running continuously for more than 2 minutes and the maximum paper quantity is
exceeded (7 sheets/70 g/m
2
per sheet). Exceeding the maximum paper quantity will cause the
paper input slot to become blocked. If you have used the shredder for longer than 2 minutes in
continuous operation, leave it to rest for at least 60 minutes before using it again. If the motor
protection function is triggered or there is a paper jam, proceed as follows:
• Slide the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch

to the
OFF
position and disconnect the
mains plug from the socket.
• Pull and remove the excess paper from the top of the shredder.
• Connect the mains plug to a standard mains socket.
• Slide the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch to the right to the
REV
position.
• The cutting unit will run in the opposite direction and push the blocked paper out of the
shredder. Slide the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch to the
OFF
position. Remove the
excess paper. Keep your hand and fingers away from the input slot to avoid the risk of injury.
If the paper blockage cannot be cleared, follow the instructions in section "f) Release
function".
• Slide the
AUTO / OFF / REV
selector switch to left to the
AUTO
position to continue
shredding.
f) Release function
When cutting fibrous paper, the cutting unit can become very dirty and blocked. If this occurs,
slide the
AUTO / OFF / REV (3)
selector switch

to
REV
for 2 to 3 seconds, and then slide
it back to
AUTO
.
Press the
CLEAR
button
(2)
for 2 to 3 seconds. Repeat these steps 2-3 times to remove the
paper residue from the cutting unit.
Troubleshooting
Error
Possible cause

The cutting unit continues to
run in AUTO mode.
The collection container
is full. The paper from the
cutting unit cannot slide
downwards.

Fold, dry, or smooth the

The engine is overheated.
Let the product cool down
for at least 60 minutes
before using it again.
Maintenance, care and cleaning
Caution! The blades are very sharp. Risk of injury.
• Before cleaning the product, switch it off and disconnect the mains socket from the mains
outlet.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
• This product does not contain any components that require maintenance. Never attempt to
open or disassemble it.
• Empty the collection containers regularly.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may
damage the enclosure or cause the product to malfunction.
•
A dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient for cleaning. Do not press too hard on the housing,
as this can lead to scratch marks.
•
From time to time (after approx. 200 shredding operations), use a special non-flammable
shredder oil to oil the cutting unit. Spray bottles and special oil paper can be purchased
from specialist shops.
