•  The clock automatically attempts to receive a DCF signal six

times per day at 01:22, 05:22, 09:22, 13:22, 17:22 and 21:22 and

stops reception attempts as soon as the signal has been received

successfully.

•  Once the clock has received a signal, it syncs with the DCF time

three times a day at 01:22, 03:22 and 05:22. This is sufficient to

keep the time accurate to within one second per day.

•

The  DCF  signal  is  sent  from  a  transmitter  in  Mainflingen  (near

Frankfurt am Main, Germany) and has a range of up to 1500 km,

increasing to 2000 km in ideal reception conditions. The DCF

signal contains information such as the exact time and date (with a

theoretical time deviation of one second every million years). There

is no need to set the summer and winter time manually.

c) Manual DCF signal reception

•  To search for a DCF signal manually (for example, when you move the clock to a new location

and need the clock to search for a DCF signal again), press and hold the

REC

 button for

3 seconds. The clock will stop for 3 to 10 minutes while it searches for a DCF signal. Wait

until the correct time is displayed. If the clock fails to receive a signal, the hands will start

moving again. For example, if the time was 13:00 when the clock started to search for a

signal and the search attempt lasted 5 minutes, the clock will display 13:05 when the search

attempt ends.

d) Setting the time manually

•  You may need to set the time manually, for example when the clock is not within range of

the DCF signal.

•  To set the time manually, press the

M.SET

button (3) button for three seconds. The second

hand will stop for approx. 5 seconds for you to set the time. If the hand starts moving again,

press the

M. SET

button for three seconds to go back to the manual time setting mode.

Alternatively, stop the clock by pressing the

REC

button, and then set the time using

the

M. SET

 button as follows:

•  Press the

M.SET

button briefly to adjust the time minute by minute, or press and hold to

adjust the time continuously.

•  When you release the

M.SET

button, the new time will be applied after 5 seconds and the

clock will display the home screen.

e) Resetting the clock

•  Use the reset function if the clock fails to respond when you press the buttons or if you

encounter other issues (e.g. the clocks fails to receive a DCF signal). Resetting the clock will

delete all previously received DCF data. Before resetting, check whether you can receive a

signal in another location.

•  To reset the clock, press the

RESET

 (1) button with a pointed object (e.g. a pen).

•  The hands will move to the 12:00 position and the clock will attempt to receive a new DCF

signal.

•  Wait 2 – 5 minutes for the time to be displayed.

f) Removal from service

•  To remove the clock from service (e.g. when moving house), perform a factory reset (see

"Resetting the clock" for details).

The locking pin (4) can only be inserted when the hands are pointing to 12:00.

Remove the battery before inserting the locking pin.

Care and cleaning

•  Do not use strong or abrasive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as

these could damage the housing or even impair the functioning of the product.

•  The clock does not require any maintenance apart from changing the battery, therefore do

not attempt to dismantle it.

•  Remove the battery before cleaning.
•  Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
•  Dust can be easily removed using a soft clean brush.

Troubleshooting

The clock is not synchronising or reception is intermittent:

 - The clock is out of range of the DCF transmitter or there is interference from the

surroundings.

 - Move the clock to a different location and switch off devices that may be interfering with

reception such as TVs, computers or microwave ovens.

 - Avoid placing the clock close to large metal surfaces that may block reception. Metal-

coated windows may also affect signal reception.

 - To synchronise the clock, place it by a window with either the front or back facing towards

Frankfurt, Germany.

 - Leave the clock switched on overnight to reduce atmospheric interference.
 - Reset the clock (see “Resetting the clock” for details).

Disposal

a) Product

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in household

waste. Always dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.

If a battery is inserted, remove it and dispose of it separately from the product.

b) Batteries

You are required by law to return all used batteries. They must not be placed in

in batteries are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (indicated on the battery,

e.g. below the trash icon on the left).

Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery

retailers.

You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
