• Never connect the product to the mains immediately after it has been brought
from a cold room into a warm one (e.g. after being transported). The resulting
condensation may destroy the product or cause an electrical shock! Let
the product reach room temperature first. Wait until the condensation has
evaporated ; this may take several hours. Only then may the product be mounted
and connected to the mains.
d) Using the product
•
Do not overload the product! Pay attention to the connection specifications in the
"Technical data" section.
• Never touch or operate the product if your hands are moist or wet. This may
cause a fatal electrical shock!
•
Never pour liquids over or near the product. This constitutes a serious fire hazard
and may result in a fatal electrical shock.
If liquid does enter the interior of the power strip, immediately isolate the product
from the mains (turn off fuse/automatic fuse/residual current circuit breaker for
the corresponding circuit). Then disconnect any connected devices (e.g. USB
device) from the product. Consult an technician. Do not continue to use the
product.
• Only use the product in temperate climates, not in tropical climates.
• Do not use the product if it is damaged. This may cause a fatal electrical shock!
Operating elements
1 USB-A sockets
2 Power socket
3 Cover frame
4 Socket module
5 Screw holes
6 Neutral wire
7 Earth wire
8 Phase
9 Mounting plate
Operation
• Only connect and mount the product when it is isolated from the mains voltage.
• Isolate all poles of the mains cable from the mains supply by removing the electric circuit fuse
or switching off the automatic fuse. Then turn off the earth leakage circuit breaker. Protect it
against an unauthorised restart, e.g. with a danger sign.
• Check that the mains cable is isolated from the mains, e.g. with an appropriate testing device.
• Remove the power socket module (4) and the cover frame (3) from the mounting plate (9).
Secure the mounting plate to the surface-mounted or flush-mounted box using the two
screws included with the product.
• Connect the mains cable (1.5 to 2.5 mm² cable cross section) to the terminal connections.
The wires must be stripped to a length of approximately 10 mm.
L (8) = Phase
N (6) = Neutral wire
PE (7) = Earth wire
To remove a wire from a terminal connection, loosen the screw and pull the wire out of the
connection.
• Click the socket module (4) into the mounting plate.
• Be careful not to damage the cables when inserting the socket module (4) or tightening
screws.
• Place the cover frame (3) on the power socket.
Operation
• You can connect a standard electrical device to the protective contact power socket on the
product (i.e. it functions like a normal mains socket).
• The socket can only be unlocked by inserting the pins of a plug into both of the socket
openings at the same time.
• However, you should still exercise particular caution when children are present. Children are
unaware of the hazards resulting from the incorrect handling of electrical devices. Handling
the product incorrectly may cause a fatal electrical shock!
• The USB charging output (USB-A socket (1)) can be used to charge a mobile device
(e.g. smartphone or tablet). Connect the mobile device to the USB charging output using a
suitable cable.
• Ensure that the USB plug is inserted into the USB socket in the correct orientation. Do not use
any force when connecting the USB plug.
• Observe the information about charging times in the instruction manual for the product that
you have connected to the USB charging output.
• The USB charging output is only designed to provide power to the connected USB device.
It cannot be used to transfer data.
Care and cleaning
• You do not need to carry out maintenance work on the product. Leave maintenance or repair
work to an expert.
• Disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning (turn off fuse/automatic fuse/
residual current circuit breaker for the corresponding circuit).
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product. Dust can be easily removed using a vacuum
cleaner.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could
damage the casing or even impair the functioning of the product.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household
waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant
statutory regulations.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
