6. Cleaning and maintenance
6.1 Safety advice
o
Before beginning with repair or cleaning works make sure the device has been
disconnected from power supply and has cooled down.
o
Do not use any acid agents and make sure no water ingresses the device.
o
To protect yourself from electric shock, never immerse the device, its cables and
the plug in water or other liquids.
CAUTION!
The device is not suited for direct washing via water jets.
Therefore, you must not use any kind of pressure water jet for cleaning the device!
6.2 Cleaning
o
The device should be cleaned after every use to avoid leftover food and salt from
damaging the device.
o
Set the temperature dial to the lowest setting, turn the device off using the
ON/OFF switch, remove the plug from its socket and wait for the device to cool.
o
Remove the lid, then remove the insert pot from the external pot. Use a soft cloth and
warm water with mild cleaning agent to wash the lid, carrying rim and insert pot.
o
Empty the external pot only when the water inside has cooled, otherwise there will
be a danger of burns!
o
Wipe the external pot on the inside and outside with a soft, moist cloth.
o
If limescale has gathered at the bottom of the external pot, remove it with a vinegar
and water solution or a common descaling product. Follow the manufacturer’s
instructions.
o
Dry all parts thoroughly.
o
Always use soft cloths, never use harsh cleaners that could scratch the device’s
surface.
o
When finished cleaning, dry and polish the device’s surface with a dry cloth.
o
If the device is to be cleaned, transported or remain unused for a longer period of
time, empty the external pot and clean the device thoroughly. Store the device in a
dry, clean place protected from frost and sunlight, inaccessible to children. Do not
place any heavy objects on the device.
