Placing Items on and Removing Them from Shelves
To start with, all items in your B&N library and My Documents are unshelved (not on a specific
shelf ). After you create one or more shelves, you can place items in your library on them. You can
also remove items from shelves.
Unlike a physical book, you can place a digital item (eBook, newspaper, or magazine) on
more than one shelf, if that helps you to organize items. For example, you could create a
FANTASY
shelf and a
WIZARDS
shelf, and put books that feature wizards on both shelves.
To place an item on or remove it from a shelf or shelves:
1 On the Home menu, tap my library .
2 Go to the section of your library that contains the item you want to shelve.
3 Tap Manage shelves > Place on or remove from shelf .
4 Using the Up and Down arrows, navigate to each item in your B&N library that you want to
place on a shelf or unshelve. The item is highlighted on the reading screen.
5 Tap a shelf or shelves as follows. If a scroll bar is present, scroll the menus to see all of the
shelves.
• The item is already on every shelf that has a check mark on the menu. To remove the item
from that shelf, tap the menu and the check mark disappears.
• The item is not already on a shelf without a check mark on the menu. To add the item to a
shelf, tap the menu and a check mark appears.
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 for all of the items that you want to shelve or unshelve.
7 When you have finished shelving and unshelving items, tap the Back button. You are returned to
the beginning of your library with shelves shown.
Going to a Shelf
Shelves are in the order in which you arrange them. There are two ways of going to a shelf:
• By paging through your library
• By going directly to the shelf. Tap Manage shelves > Go to shelf , and then navigate to and tap
the shelf name.
