ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TROUBLE SHOOTING

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Use this section only as a general guide to finding solutions for machine problems.

If the machine should malfunction, find the problem in the headings listed then refer to the possible causes and
remedies listed with the problem.

The list of problems, causes, and remedies will only give an indication of where a possible problem can be and
what repairs are needed.

More, or other, possible servicing may be needed beyond the recommendations in the list or a factory service man
may be required.

PROBLEM

CAUSE

Windshield Wiper/Washer (if
applicable) does not work.

Wiper/Washer switch needs
service.

Wiper or washer motor needs
service.

Disconnected or damaged wiring.

Replace switch.

Repair or replace motor.

Inspect wiring. Connect or
replace wiring as necessary.

Defroster (if applicable) does not
work.

Defroster switch needs service.

Defroster fan motor needs
service.

Disconnected or damaged wiring.

Replace switch.

Repair or replace motor.

Inspect wiring. Connect or
replace wiring as necessary.

Motor will not start.

Trip at main circuit breaker.

Failure on phase sequence relay.

Trip on fan motor overload relay.

Check wiring and reset trip
mechanism.

Have qualified electrician check
voltage and phasing on feeder
lines. Adjust phase sequence
relay.

Check wiring to fan motor, assure
that fan turns freely.

Motor runs momentarily but
stops.

High or low voltage power supply.

Motor circuit protectors tripping
out.

Have a qualified electrician adjust
phase sequence monitor.
