5.2 Replacing Fans
The two fans are located at the right side on the rear of the NGC-105.
The fans are not dimensioned for redundant operation. Therefore, if one fan fails it must be
replaced immediately or the NGC-105 must be switched off. With only one fan running,
critical temperatures are reached after 10 to 15 minutes!

5.2.1 Determining the defective fan module
An indication for a fan defect can be that the status LED of a NGS-board shines red; please refer to section 3.2.1
General interfaces and control elements . A defective fan can be detected watching the fans spinning through the air
supply openings. If a fan spins too slow or not at all it is defective. Another possibility is to sense if air streams
outwards at each fan module. If this is not the case then the fan module is defective and must be replaced.
