8.5.2.2.1 Description of the Acuras Multi-point
Introduction
The automatic color and brightness measurements on a channel is done at multiple prede fi ned positions. Those positions must be
de fi ned in such a way that they fully cover the visible part of the projected image of the concerning channel in an ef fi cient way.
Panel Markers are used to indicate the center and the outline of the visible part of the image, by positioning red squares, generated
in the projector, at well-considered spots.
Gimbal positions are used to store the orientation of the Gimbal head to each of the Panel Markers.
Panel Markers
In case of Acuras Multi-point position, the user has to de fi ne fi ve—or seven—reference points, called Panel Markers , per channel
to indicate the visible part of the image.
The XDS RACU software then automatically adds four —or two—Panel Markers to come to a total of 9. Panel markers are indicated
by squares on the projected image..
Panel Markers may not be de fi ned inside the overlap area between two or more channels.
In case of a quadrangular visible image area, only fi ve Panel Markers must be de fi ned: the center point and the four outer corners
of the visible part of the image. See C, 1, 2, 3 and 4 on image 8-30. XDS RACU automatically adds four Panel markers: see 1–2,
2–4, 3–4 and 1–3 on the same image.

In case of a pentagonal or hexagonal visible image area, it is possible to change the position Panel Markers 1–3 and 2–4, for which
a default position was automatically calculated by XDS RACU.
