GETTING THE APPLIANCE READY
4.1
FOR USE
Lighting the appliance
When using the appliance for th e first time, let it burn for
30 minutes. This removes any remaining manufacturing
greases from the appliance.
A fireplace that has not been assembled properly is unsafe.
The fireplace needs to be positioned on a concrete base
capable of carrying the weight of the fireplace. The base
must be perfectly even and smooth. In case the fireplace
is intended to be placed on a terrace or in a similar location,
the place needs to be first inspected by a professional to
identify whether it can carry the load.
Stones need to be purchased seperately!
It is recommended to fill the fireplace structure with stones
whose sizes are not smaller than the mesh eyes. Larger
stones need to be placed manually, with a proper
supervision to ensure a correct and consistent assembly
without unnecessary gaps and clearances. Pay attention to
even distribution of the load over the entire structure. Close
the holes in the combustion chamber tightly to prevent
smoke penetration. Put the stones carefully to avoid
deforming the structure of the fireplace. It is recommended to
seek help from a professional to fill in the structure!
NOTE: Failure to comply, even partially, with the
instructions contained in this document will nullify
warranty claims.
When starting fire and using the fireplace never wear clothes
with loose sleeves. In order to extinguish fire from coal and
wood, never use water, snow, extinguishers ect. Using the
fireplace when under the influence of alcohol and/or
substances may impair your ability to comply with the safety
instructions and instructions for use.
NOTE : The entire structure has been hot-dip galvanised.
Prior to first use of the fireplace for grilling, it must be
preheated at least twice ( 2 x 1,5 hours up to not more
than 400° C) in order to remove the top zinc coating from
the combustion chamber. The preheated process needs
to be repeated every time the fireplace is subject to
maintenance.
Do not use spirits, petroleum and such like to start fire in
the fireplace. Burning liquid fuels as well home and
garden waste in the fireplace is prohibited. Only use fire
starters compliant with EN 1860-3.

MAINTAINING THE APPLIANCE
In order to protect the fireplace from unfavourable weather
conditions, it is recommended to cover entire structure with a
waterproof material for winter. Snow accumulated on the walls
of the fireplace structure may cause corrosion spots to appear.
Check the heating components such as the combustions
chamber and the chimney pipe for tightness.
When using sharp objects to clean the grate or remove ash,
you may damage the top coating of the fireplace structure.
Clean the combustion chamber regulary without using
chemical substances and mechanical devices that may
damage the coating of the fireplace.
If you plan to not use the fireplace for a long time, clean
corrosion spots, if any, on the outer surfaces of the
fireplace and the combustion chamber. Use a regular
anti-corrosion spray for maintenance.
Ordering spare parts
5.1
Parts that are directly exposed to fire or intense heat have to be
replaced from time to time. To order a spare part:

If you registered your appliance online, you will
automatically be guided to the correct list.

Order the spare part at your point of sale. You can order
parts both under and outside warranty.

WARRANTY
Covered
6.1
Your appliance comes with a warrant y of two years, starting from
the date of purchase. This warranty covers all manufacturing
defects, provided that:
•
You used, assembled and maintained your appliance
according to the instructions in this manual. Damages
caused by misuse, incorrect assembly or inadequate
maintenance are not regarded as manufacturing defects.
•
You can present the receipt and the unique serial number of
your appliance. This serial number starts with a C, followed
by 15 digits. You can find it:

On this manual.

On the packaging of the appliance.
•
The Barbecook quality departme nt confirms that the parts
are defective and that they proved defective under normal
use, correct assembly and adequate maintenance.
If one of the above conditions is not met, you cannot claim any
form of contribution. In all case s, the warranty is limited to the
repair or replacement of the defective part(s).
6.2 Not covered
The following damages and defects are not covered by the
warranty:
•
Normal wear and tear (rusting, distortion, discolouration...) of
parts that are directly exposed to fire or intense heat. It is
normal to replace these parts from time to time.
•
Visual irregularities that are inherent to the manufacturing
process. These irregularities are not regarded as
manufacturing defects.
•
All damages caused by inadequate maintenance, incorrect
storage, improper assembly or modifications made to
pre-assembled parts.
•
All damages caused by misuse and abuse of the appliance
(not using it according to the instructions in this manual,
using it for commercial purposes, using it as a fire basket...).
•
All consequential damages caused by careless or
non-compliant use of the appliance.
•
Rust or discolouration caused by external influences, the use
of aggressive detergents,... These damages are not
regarded as manufacturing defects.
