STARTING UP AND REGULATION
Before starting up, make sure that:
• The nozzles on the burner must be suitable for the boiler
capacity. If necessary, replace them with suitable ones. In no
case should the quantity of fuel delivered exceed the maximum
amount required by the boiler and the maximum amount
allowed for the burner.
• Check that thee voltage on the mains meets the manufacturer
requirements and that all electrical connections made at the
installation site are performed properly as illustrated in our
wiring diagram.
• Verify that the discharge of combustion fumes through the boiler
shutters, flue shutters can take place freely.
• Check that there is water in the boiler and that the gate valves
of the system are open.
• Check that there is fuel in the tank.
Check that all the gate valves fitted on the fuel suction and return
pipes are open; the same applies to any other fuel shut-off devices.
• Avoid operation of the second stage. Set the switch of the
electrical switchboard to the 1st stage position.If the burner is
not fitted with a first and second stage switch, disconnect the
thermostat to avoid the activation of the second stage, if already
present.
•
Slightly open the air regulator to allow the flow of air deemed
necessary for burner operation in the first stage and lock it in
this position.

• Set the air regulation device on the combustion head to
an intermediate position(see chapter Air regulation on the
combustion head).

Activate the main switch and the control panel switch, if fitted.
• The programmer activates and runs the pre-set program,
activating the burner devices.

With the burner running in the first stage, regulate the air
according to the amount required to ensure proper combustion.
•
We recommend keeping the air quantity for the first stage at a
low level to ensure a perfect ignition even in the most difficult
conditions.
• After regulation of the 1st stage air, disconnect the power to the
main switch, switch on the electric circuit that controls activation
of the second stage and turn the switch to the second stage on
the electrical switchboard.
• If the electrical switchboard does not have 1st and 2nd stage
switch, connect the terminals of the 2nd stage thermostat on
the boiler terminal block.Use the screw that limits the piston
stroke for the models fitted with hydraulic jack (0002935420),
or use the second stage air regulation cam for the models with
servomotor (0002935210), Set the air damper opening for the
second stage to the position deemed necessary for the required
fuel output.
• Now the equipment is activated again and moves to the second
stage automatically, according to the program set by the
programmer.
• Regulate the air according to the amount required to ensure
proper combustion.
• The combustion check must be carried out using the appropriate
instruments.
•
If suitable instruments are not available, look at the flame colour.
• Regulate until obtaining a light orange colour instead of a red
flame with smoke, or a white flame with too much air.
• The air regulator must be in a position to enable a carbon dioxide
(CO2) percentage in the smoke, that varies from 10% minimum
to a maximum of 13% with a smoke number not greater than 2
in the Bacharach scale.
CAUTION / WARNING
With hydraulic jack,
When first switching on the burner, shut downs may be
experienced during the transition from the 1st to the 2nd
stage, due to the presence of air in the jack circuit.
Slightly loosen the nut that locks the jack pipe, carry out a
few work cycles until the fuel comes out of the jack fitting
nut.
Tighten the nut when the operation is complete.
