OPERATION
Contact Grinding
1. Before grinding, make sure the exhaust fan with the collection bag attached, is running and
that the spark trap is in place.
2. When grinding against the contact wheel “C”, make sure
that the top belt guard “E” is closed.
3. Press the ON button to start and run the belt motor and
belt.
4. The operator faces the contact wheel and securely holds
the piece part to be ground.
5. KEEP HANDS AWAY from the point of grinding as heat will
be generated during the grinding process.
6. Use the front work support “B” to steady the work piece whenever possible.
7. The piece part is then pressed against the belt and turned and ground as needed.
Surface Grinding
1. Before grinding, make sure the exhaust fan with the collection bag attached, is running and
that the spark trap is in place.
2. Open the top belt guard “E” to expose the top surface of the belt.
3. Press the ON button to start and run the belt motor and belt.
4. With the belt turning, hold the piece part firmly against the top work support “D” while
grinding.
Note: Belt life can be prolonged if the grinding starts with a light pressure.
CAUTION:
Always wear proper eye protection with side shields, safety
footwear, and leather gloves to protect from burrs and sharp edges.
When handling large heavy materials make sure they are properly supported.
CAUTION:
Do not allow hands or fingers to make contact with a moving
grinding belt!
