Greasing the Machine
•
Grease the gear rack on the column to keep the table moving smoothly.
•
Lubricate the spline of the spindle and the teeth of
the rack with a #2 grease.
•
Fully extend the spindle and lightly grease the
spindle shaft.
Before removing the left plate of the spindle housing to
access the spindle gears, you must first remove the
power feed knob. Mark the location of the pointer arrow
so orientation is not lost when putting knob back on.
Lubricate gears with a #2 grease. (There is no access
to the gears by removing the right side control panel.)
Oil Fill/Change
This machine is shipped
WITHOUT oil in the power-feed gearbox. Use an SAE
80W- 90 gear oil.
1. Before filling power-feed gearbox with gear oil, make sure the oil drain plug
is tight.
2. Loosen and remove the oil fill hex plug.
3. Fill gearbox until oil level shows full in the sight glass. DO NOT overfill.
4. Replace oil fill plug.
5. Check monthly and add oil if needed.
6. To drain, remove the oil drain plug.
7. Loosen or remove the oil fill plug to allow the oil to drain properly.
