CARRYING YOUR NEWBORN BABY
1.
Put on the harness. The BABYBJÖRN logo should be on your left side.
2.
Adjust the back cross so it sits just below your shoulder blades for maximum comfort.
3.
Check that the size adjustment is set to newborn 53–60 cm.
4.
Fasten the harness to the front of the baby carrier by locking the double buckle. It is locked when
you hear a click.
5.
Fasten the side latch on one side by inserting the hook into the slot. Check that it is firmly locked.
Tighten the shoulder straps slightly.
6.
Place the child in the baby carrier facing you. Each leg should be on its respective side of the baby carrier
front and the child’s arms should be placed through the armholes.
7.
Fasten the side latch on the other side by inserting the hook into the slot.
8.
Fasten the head support buckle on both sides. Place your thumb behind the head support knob on the
harness. Click into place! You can adjust the head support by carefully pulling on the head support straps.
Make sure that there is enough air space around your child’s head.
9.
Fasten the leg straps on both sides. They should be used for children between 3.5 and 4.5 kg in order to
reduce the size of the leg openings.
10.
Adjust the shoulder straps one at a time while lifting your child from underneath. You should carry your
child so close and so high up that you can kiss the top of your child’s head. Finally, check that the back cross
is centred just below your shoulder blades.

CARRYING YOUR OLDER BABY
At the age of 4–6 months, when your child has sufficient muscle control over its head and body, you can switch
between carrying your child facing you and facing forwards.
I.
Set the baby carrier according to your child’s approximate length.
II.
When carrying your child facing forwards, please keep in mind the following: The younger baby’s arms
should be through the armholes, while the older baby can have its arms above the folded-down head
support, as the picture shows.
