BATTERY REPLACEMENT
IMPORTANT
If this module is used as a UL-certified product, the battery
should be replaced by a person who not only uses but also
maintains equipment that incorporates a UL-certified product.
Battery replacement
The backup battery can be replaced whether the power is turned
on or off.
Handling Precautions
•
To replace the battery with the power off, make sure that the
power was on for 60 minutes or more before turning it off,
and complete the replacement within 10 minutes. Failure to
do so might cause the backup data to be lost.
•
If the battery is replaced when the power is on, the battery
indicator may stay lit for about 3 minute after replacement.
This is normal, but check that the indicator turns off 3 minute
or so after replacement.
•
When putting the battery holder back into the unit, push the
release lever firmly until it clicks.
z
Replacement method with the power off
(1) Back up the module’s data to a PC using the SLP-NX
Smart Loader Package.
(2) After making sure that the power was on for 60 minutes or
more, turn the power off.
(3) Remove the unit from the base, and then remove the
battery holder from the bottom of the unit and unplug the
connector.
(4) Remove the battery from the battery holder.
(5) Set the new battery in the holder, connect the connectors,
and hang the battery cable on the hook of the holder.
(6) Put the battery holder back into the unit and connect the
unit to the base.
(7) Using the SLP-NX, check if the module’s date and time
are correct. If they are not correct, correct them and then
write the backup data that was stored in the PC in step (1)
to the unit.
