CAUTION
Cautions are indicated when mishandling this product may
result in minor injury or property damage only.
CAUTION
Do not transport combustion equipment with the AUD15
installed, since vibration or shock may damage the tube.
Before transporting the equipment, remove the tube and put
it in a secure packing box.
The effective life of the AUD15 is a total of 25,000 hours of
use or 5 years (from the date indicated by the date code on
the model No. label).
Be sure to replace it with a new Tube Unit within this period.
* The effective life is the time when UV sensor detects a flame.
UNPACKING
The following items should be included in your purchase.
•
Model AUD15
•
User’s manual (this manual)
CP-UM-5639JE
•
Effective operation time label
•
Expiration date label
HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
•
Use the
AUD15
in combination with the
AUD100/110/120
dedicated socket.
•
The
AUD15
can also be used as the tube unit for the
C7035A
Minipeeper
Ultraviolet Flame Detector.
•
The allowable ambient temperature range for the
AUD15
when used alone
is -20 to +120 °C. However, if it is used with a dedicated socket, its ambi-
ent temperature range may be limited by that of the socket. (Example: the
maximum allowable ambient temperature for the
AUD120
is 105 °C.)
•
Take special care in handling the
AUD15
to avoid impact and shock.
•
When transporting or storing the
AUD15
, be sure to put it in a secure packing box.
•
When the ambient temperature exceeds 110, 115, or 120 °C, the thermo-
label dot corresponding to each temperature changes color from white to
black. Use an air purge for cooling so that the ambient temperature does
not exceed the maximum allowable temperature (120 °C), together with a
sealed adapter (model No. 81403159).
OVERVIEW
The AUD15 is a phototube used to detect ultraviolet radiation emitted from
combustion flames. Since this unit is essential to ensure the safe operation of
combustion equipment, treat it with care when handling and storing it.

Handling Precautions
•
In the “Effective operation time” column, be sure to write the es-
timated date when the total usage time will reach 25,000 hours,
as calculated from burner operating times. If this period is lon-
ger than 5 years, write the same date shown on the expiration
date label, and refer to that date for maintenance purposes.

Thermolabel
This label is affixed to the AUD15. Keep the air cool enough (by air
purge, etc.) so that the label does not change color from
white to black. Use the label as a guide to avoid using
the tube at an excessive ambient temperature.
INSERTION INTO THE AUD100/110/120
Position the signal pins (gold-plated) of the AUD15 to the left and right of the
projection in the socket. Then insert the tube unit all the way into the socket.
