Installation and Connection Instructions
Now you know about everything that the Compar Kit Jr. can do and how it operates. So that you get the very
best out of your kit while using it in the safest way possible, please follow these installation and connection
instructions closely. This not only ensures that the device is used correctly, but safely.
Make sure that children do not have access to the device or any connecting cables. If there are children
present, make sure that they are supervised. Since the device can be placed upright or be suspended, it is
possible for children to pull on any connecting cables and cause the device to fall. To prevent any accidents
or injury, this must be taken into account whenever the device is being positioned and/or installed.
Standing Installation
When you want to place the Compar Kit Jr. in an upright position, make sure that the device is placed on a
stable surface such as a table, DJ booth or bar. The double suspension bracket is designed so that it can
function as a stand. This way, the spotlight can be directed towards your audience or positioned to provide
uplighting. Always make sure that the light is positioned on a stable surface and that any cabling is secured
so that no one can trip and knock or pull the device over.
The Compar Kit Jr. can also be stand mounted using the included 35mm stand adapter. Please note that a
stand is not included.
Suspended Installation
If the Compar Kit Jr. needs to be suspended, suspension brackets and mounting materials are required
(brackets and mounting materials not included).
If a G-hook or half coupler needs to be installed on the device, this can be done before the brackets are
mounted. Standard hooks and/or brackets for 35 to 50mm tubes (truss or lighting stand) should be available
from your local retailer.
The hardware needed to mount the Compar Kit Jr. to a wall is not included. If you are unsure what hardware
is needed to mount the device to a wall, then please contact a specialist since wooden strut and brick walls
will require different materials.
When the Compar Kit Jr. is suspended, you will need to attach a safety cable to the fixture. This is not
included but is available at your local retailer. The device is fitted with an attachment point for hooking a
safety cable. Once hooked on, the cable can be wrapped around the truss or light stand and attached once
more to the same hook. This ensures the device is secure and prevents it from falling, even if one or both of
the brackets should come loose and fail.
Ensure that the safety cable has a load capacity of 10x the weight of the device and that the device cannot
fall farther than 30cm. You can wrap the safety cable around the truss or light stand several times to ensure
the fall is as short as possible. The shorter the fall, the less chance of damage or injury.
Mounting Extra Lighting
When the Compar Kit Jr. is stand mounted, extra mounting points fitted to the top surface can be used to
mount extra lighting. These mounting points are intended for fixtures like small LED moving heads, lighting
effects or a strobe. The weight per extra fixture must not exceed 2kg.
Light Source
The Compar Kit Jr. uses powerful LED modules that are made even more powerful by a special lens that
combines and focuses these beams, much like a magnifying glass. Since the human eye cannot adjust
quickly enough to sudden and intense exposure to the level of brightness this device produces, never look
directly into the lens at close range. While it won't result in permanent damage, it can cause temporary blind
spots which may cause disorientation and discomfort.
