Cleaning and Disinfecting the Whirlpool Spa
Please follow these instructions to clean and disinfect the spa:
Between Each Customer
1.
Drain all water and remove debris from the spa.
2.
Clean the spa with soap or detergent and water.
3.
Spray the surfaces and walls of the spa with the sprayer.
4.
Wipe the spa dry with a clean towel.
Daily Flushing of the Whirlpool System
The spa must be thoroughly cleaned after the last pedicure of the day in the following
manner:
1.
Remove the suction cover with a screwdriver and turn the jet cover counter-
clockwise to take it out.
2.
All debris trapped behind the screen needs to be removed.
3.
The inlet behind the screen needs to be cleaned with soap or detergent and water.
4.
Before replacing the screen, clean it with a chlorine bleach solution of 1 teaspoon of
5% chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of water.
5.
Totally clean suction cover, jet cover and interior.
6.
Replace the jet cover and suction cover. Do not over-tighten the mounting screw.
7.
Do not run the spa whirlpool jet without the jet cover and suction fitting cover in
place.
8.
Fill the tub basin with about 5 gallons of water.
9.
Turn the whirlpool jet on.
10.
Add 3 teaspoons of low-foaming dishwasher detergent and 2 ounces of bleach to the
tub basin.
11.
Run whirlpool for 10-15 minutes and drain the tub basin.
12.
Clean the exterior of the foot spa with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
Biweekly Cleaning of the Whirlpool System
In addition to the daily cleaning, the follow cleaning procedures must be performed every
other week:
