Getting Started – Ubuntu
1 Introduction
1.4 Ports
The table below lists all the ports used by various applications in the AVHS system and can be used to set IP filters in the system.
Note that, the ports shown here are example values only.
80
/home/sts/web/interfaces directory for the cameras (event uploads and similar.)
443
web interface for users and for events uploads to /home/sts/web/interfaces directory.
8080
devices —> ST server (for camera connections)
554
media server (RTSP for streaming H.264 and MPEG-4)
1935
media server (RTMP for streaming H.264 and MPEG-4)
Important
The requirement is that, the server needs to have Internet access during setup and production, either directly or through
a HTTP-proxy. Proxy settings can also be added through the HTTP_PROXY parameter in
AVHS portal > System Configuration
.
For correct configuration of scheduled recordings and motion detection, proxy must be added for devices with firmware
5.40.xx.

Dispatcher destination port 8080 is applicable for firmware earlier than 5.40 only.
1.4.1 Other port requirements
How the system storage will be accessed depends on the method used: NAS, SAN or DAS.
The use of DAS requires NFS, for mounting the storage on all servers. In this case, ports for NFS must also be opened in the system.
NAS = Network Attached Storage
