System Options
A
Server/Client
certi
fi
cate can be self-signed or issued by a Certi
fi
cate Authority (CA). A self-signed certi
fi
cate offers limited
protection and can be used before a CA-issued certi
fi
cate has been obtained.
To install a self-signed certi
fi
cate:
1. Go to
System Options > Security > Certi
fi
cates
.
2. Click
Create self-signed certi
fi
cate
and provide the requested information.
To create and install a CA-signed certi
fi
cate:
1. Create a self-signed certi
fi
cate as described above.
2. Go to
System Options > Security > Certi
fi
cates
.
3. Click
Create certi
fi
cate signing request
and provide the requested information.
4. Copy the PEM-formatted request and send to the CA of your choice.
5. When the signed certi
fi
cate is returned, click
Install certi
fi
cate
and upload the certi
fi
cate.
Server/Client certi
fi
cates can be installed as

cate from signing request
or as
Certi
fi
cate and private key
. Select
Certi
fi
cate
and private key
if the private key is to be upload as a separate
fi
le or if the certi
fi
cate is in PKCS#12 format.
The Axis product is shipped with several preinstalled
CA certi
fi
cates
. If required, additional CA certi
fi
cates can be installed:
1. Go to
System Options > Security > Certi
fi
cates
2. Click
Install certi
fi
cate
and upload the certi
fi
cate.
Audio Support
Select
Enable audio support
to allow clients to retrieve audio streams from the Axis product. For information on how to con
fi
gure
audio settings, see
Audio Settings on page 21
.
Note
Deselecting this option will disable audio globally in the Axis product, for con
fi
gured events and pro
fi
les with audio as well.
Date & Time
The Axis product’s date and time settings are con
fi
gured under
System Options > Date & Time
.
Current Server Time
displays the current date and time (24h clock). The time can be displayed in 12h clock in the text overlay (see
below).
To change the date and time settings, select the preferred
Time mode
under
New Server Time
:
•
Synchronize with computer time
sets date and time according to the computer’s clock. With this option, date and
time are set once and will not be updated automatically.
•
Synchronize with NTP Server
obtains date and time from an NTP server. With this option, date and time settings are
updated continuously. For information on NTP settings, see

.
If using a host name for the NTP server, a DNS server must be con
fi
gured. See

.

Set manually
allows you to manually set date and time.
If using an NTP server, select your
Time zone
from the drop-down list. If required, check
Automatically adjust for daylight saving
time changes
.

is the date and time format displayed as a text overlay in the video stream. Use the

time formats. To include date and time in the overlay text, go to
