ESP-4 MI Serial Hub Installer/User Guide
To display or change network configuration values:
1.
From the Top Menu, enter
0
to select Server Configuration.
2.
From the Server Configuration menu, enter
1
to select Network configuration. The display
shows the IP address, subnet mask, gateway address and interface setting.
3.
You are prompted to modify any values. Enter
y
for yes or
n
for no.
To change an entry, enter a valid value when prompted. Addresses must be entered in standard
IP dot notation. The gateway address must be in the same subnet as the IP address. You cannot
set the IP address to: a Class A address of 0.0.x.x, a loopback address of 127.x.x.x, the default
value of 192.1.1.1 or an address at or above 248.x.x.x. The subnet mask cannot be 0.0.0.0.
The default interface mode is auto-negotiate. To change the mode, select another value from
the listbox. See
on page 4 for more information.
4.
If you changed any values, the new values are displayed and you are prompted to confirm the
changes. Enter
y
for yes or
n
for no.
If you changed the address information, it will not take effect until the ESP-4 MI hub is rebooted
(see
on page 42). If the IP address had not been previously set or the hub has
been reinitialized, the hub reboots automatically.
Displaying or Changing Port Interface, Attributes and
Connection Methods
The Port Configuration display includes the serial port interface, attributes and connection methods
for a port. There are four Port Configuration displays, one for each of the ESP-4 MI hub’s ports.
To display or change port interface, attributes or connection methods:
1.
From the Top Menu, enter the number (1-4) corresponding to the desired port.
The Port Configuration menu for that port appears.

To display or change the serial port attributes, enter

from the Port Configuration menu. The
current attributes are displayed.

You are prompted to modify the port’s values. Enter
y
for yes or
n
for no.
If you choose to modify the port’s configuration, a menu will be displayed for each of the
port attributes. (Table 3.10 on page 23 lists all valid and default values.) Each attribute
menu will contain a numbered list of valid values. Either enter the number corresponding
to the desired value, or press
Enter
to leave the value unchanged.

When the port attribute menus are completed, you are prompted to confirm any changes.

for yes or

for no.
3.
To display or change the connection methods, enter

from the Port Configuration menu. The
currently configured state (enabled/disabled) of each connection method is displayed. If a
method is enabled, its configurable options are also displayed. If a method is disabled, no con-
figurable options are displayed.
