Power Supply
The AVT9152 evaluation kit is designed to be powered in various ways. It is possible to use one of the
following different sources:
•
The wall mount AC-DC universal power adaptor provided together in the kit will 5V DC to
the evaluation board through the P6 DC power jack.
•
Ex3.6V connected to the P5 battery input pin (+3.6V and GND pins of P5 must be
connected).
The overall system power supply source is then selected between the external AC-DC uni5V power
adaptor or the ex3.6V battery input pin through the J18 jumper connector.
J18 Jumper Setting
System Power Supply Source (VDD_SUPPLY)
J18:1-2 ON
Supplied by ex3.6V battery.
J18:2-3 ON
Supplied by ex5V DC power adaptor.
Table 3: System Power Supply Source Jumper
The system power supply status is reflected by the D13 LED on the evaluation board when J23:1-2, jumper
is connected. In order to further decrease the current consumption of the board, D13 LED must be
disconnected by opening J23:1-2.
J23 Jumper Setting
System Power Supply LED Status, D13
J23:1-2 ON
Indicate system power supply status.
J23:1-2 OFF
System power supply status not reflected, further
decrease current consumption of the board.
Table 4: System Power Supply LED Jumper
The AVT9152 module in the evaluation kit is powered on when jumper J6:1-2 is installed. This will turn on
the DC-DC converter in the module and supply VDD_3V to the system when VDD_SUPPLY is available
and enable the nRF9160 device.
Note: The AVT9152 evaluation kit must be powered by a power supply unit or by an auxiliary equipment
complying with the standard EN-60950-1: 2006+A11/2009.
