Operating Instructions
n
Remote Control
— Each of the pair of remote controls is a miniature
radio transmitter with a typical range of up to 100 feet. Obstructions,
radio interference, cellular transmissions or a weak remote control
battery may reduce the range or interrupt transmission. (If the system
does not immediately respond, release and press the button again. This
works better than holding the button down.) The second remote can be
used by a second driver, or kept as a spare.
n
To Arm The System
— The alarm can be programmed for active or
passive arming. Active arming means the alarm can only be armed with
the remote control. Passive arming means the alarm will automatically
arm itself. See the "Programming Table for Alarm Features" on page 9.
n
Ac tive Arm ing.
Press remote button #1 for 1-2 seconds. The siren
will chirp twice, the parking lights will flash twice, the doors will
lock, the LED will flash slowly and the starter will be disabled.
n
Pas sive Arm ing.
Turn the ignition key off, exit the vehicle and close
the doors. When the interior lights turn off, the LED will flash rapidly
for 30 seconds to indicate the system is passive arming. The LED will
then flash slowly to indicate the system is armed and the starter is
disabled. (At any time during passive arming, you may actively arm
the alarm.)
n
To Disarm the System
— Press remote button #1 for 1-2 seconds.
The siren will chirp once, the parking lights will flash once, the doors
will unlock, the interior lights will turn on (if the optional interior light
illumination relay was installed), the LED will turn off and the starter
will be enabled.
