Settings for the
Virus Scan
Adapter
If you are creating a virus scan server, select it from the list of available entries (see
prerequisites). Then specify the data listed in the table on the
Settings tab page. In the
case of an integrated installation (Java and ABAP), you have to define the RFC
destination (see
Defining Virus Scan Servers – Page 33, Steps 1 to 4).

Server
Field Entry
Name Name of the virus scan adapter. The name entered is
automatically saved with the prefix “VSA_”.
Description Description of the current adapter.
Group The input help provides a list of the available groups to
which you can assign the current adapter.
Instance timeout The time in seconds for which an instance remains in
the instance pool.
Default value: 3600 (1 hour).
Instance pool size The size of instances pool delivered by an application
inquiry. In case there are more inquiries than
authorized instances, this pool can also increase but it
is reduced again as soon as possible.
Adapter Path Complete path to the storage location of the adapter, as
specified in
Installing a Virus Scan Server as a Self-
Starter – Page 39. If you leave this field empty, the
environment variable VSA_LIB is set.
Field Entry
Name Name of the virus scan server and also the destination
under which the virus scan server has registered itself
at the SAP Gateway or the name of the RFC destination
in the Destinations service.
Description Description of the current server.
Group The input help provides a list of the available groups to
which you can assign the current server.
Gateway host Host name of the gateway computer on which the Virus
Scan Server is registered.
Gateway service Service name of the registered Virus Scan Server on the
gateway.
Default: sapgw<instanceNo.>
Instance pool size The size of the instance pool delivered by an application
inquiry. If there are more inquiries than authorized
instances, this pool can also increase but it is reduced
again as soon as possible.
