Installation
Installation Steps
Follow these steps to install the encoder. Details on how to complete each of these steps are
in the following sections.
Check the package contents against the list below.
Mount the encoder.
Connect power.
Connect cameras to the encoder.
Connect the encoder to Avigilon Control Center software.
Package Contents
The package contains the following:
Avigilon Analog Video Encoder
Terminal Block
Required Tools and Materials
The following items are required to complete the installation. Items marked with (*) might not
be needed for your installation:
(*) small slotted screwdriver with 5/64” or 2 mm blade width (only needed for connecting
power when not using Power over Ethernet)
Mounting the Encoder
The encoder can be mounted in a 19” rack by attaching it to the ENC-BRK1U encoder bracket
that can be purchased separately. The bracket takes up only 1U of rack space and can hold
3 encoders.

The encoder can be attached to the bracket by lining up the four holes on the bottom of the
encoder with the hole pattern on the bracket and screwing them together with the screws
provided with the bracket.
