Loop InSite: Front Panel Information
Display
The panel display (below) provides a front view picture of the switch. It identifies each port of the
switch, indicates what type of GLM is installed and provides an indication of the health of all the
ports and the internal hardware of the fabric.
Pull Down Options
Show Event Log
Selecting this invokes the Event Log window, which displays all event messages retained in the
switch’s memory “real-time,” while the switch is running. This event log is internal to the switch.
Each event shown in the log contains an Event Timestamp, Event Number, Event Severity Level,
and Event Message.
The message log stores 100 records, logging the most recent messages at the top of the log.
Event Messages include:

Severity level
•
Time stamp when the error occurred
•
Error message itself
