Check after Starting the Engine

If any of the parameters is outside the normal range, turn off the engine and check the
cause.
x
Check the oil pressure. If it does not raise to the normal value (2-5 bars), shut down the
engine and check the reason.
Engine Check:
x
Magnetos check: at about 3000 RPM, turn off one of the magnetos. The maximum
expected drop should be 200 RPM. Turn magneto on. Repeat analogically for the second
magneto

Taxiing
x
For safety reasons, it is recommended to stop the rotor during taxiing.
x
During taxi do not exceed a fast walking speed (15 km/h).
x
Make sure the pedals operate correctly. Left pedal turn left, right pedal turn right.
x
Check the brakes. Avoid using brakes during turns, because it causes the hindered
operation with the pedals and leads to the unnecessary overload on the front wheel and
the pedals.

Check before Take-off
Make sure:
x
quantity of fuel is sufficient (recommended visual inspection of fuel in tank);
x
doors are closed;
x
seats are set up appropriately and the belts fastened;
x
choke disengaged;
x
trimmer is loose;
x
the gyrocopter is set up against the wind;
x
condition of the runway and its length are appropriate;
x
radio is operative.
