To us e the batc h quantity z ero m ethod:
1 . Send the form at and a batc h header in one file. The firs t tim e the batc h header is s ent, us e
the param eter
N (new batc h), and the param eter 0 for (z ero quantity). This ens ures the label
is properly pos itioned.
The printer im ages c ons tant text, line, and box fields , but does not print them .
2 . Input data for eac h field, and s end it with a batc h header us ing the param eter U (batc h
update) and a quantity of z ero. W hen the printer rec eives the data, it im m ediately im ages the
field, but does not print it.
At this tim e, the printer is im aging all as s oc iated fields , inc luding fields that c opy from
other fields .

Repeat s tep 2 for eac h field exc ept the las t one.
4 . For the las t field, input data and s end a batc h header with the quantity of labels to print. W hen
the printer rec eives input for the las t field, it im m ediately prints the labels . See “

The optional entry m ethod is a quic k way to m odify form at fields , c hec k digit fields and
c onfiguration pac kets .

This m ethod res ets only the param eters that c hange. Com m as ac t as plac eholders for unc hanged
param eters . The optional entry m ethod reduc es file s iz e and inc reas es the s peed at whic h files
are s ent to the printer.

If downloading from a Com m and prom pt, c reate batc h files to s et c om m unic ation values and
download form ats . It is a good idea to c reate a s ubdirec tory to hold the form at files .
Here is a batc h file that s ets a s erial port, c hanges to a s ubdirec tory, and downloads a c hec k
digit file, form at file, and batc h data file.
