Description of remote control keys operations:
The unit will respond to commands in the following different ways:
3.1) Accessing setup mode:
place the detector into the bracket and then pull it out to
enable test mode; simultaneously press the red and green buttons of the remote control
within 5 seconds. The unit goes right into PIR1 sensitivity settings. Default setting is:
“medium-high”. Once regulation is set the green LED will blink 3 times.
3.2) Sensibility
: PIR1 and PIR2 feature 4 sensibility settings which match 4 different LED
blinking modes. Low (1-2,5m) = 1 blink - average-low (3-5m) = 2 blinks - average-high
(4,5-7m) = 3 blinks - high (6,5-8,5m) = 4 blinks Repeatedly press the red button until the
required sensitivity is achieve to change the settings. Press the green button to adjusts
PIR2 (outer side - orange LED): follow above procedure. Use the red/grey button to go to
the following setting.
3.3) Pulse count:
(the green LED blinks for PIR1) 1 blink = trigger alarm immediately
(default setting), 2 blinks = trigger alarm after two detections. Use the red button to adjust
both PIR1 and PIR2 (orange LED will blink) and move on to the next setting by pressing the
red/grey button.
3.4) AND function:
two options are available.
• alarm is triggered within 10 seconds when both PIR detectors detect motion (default
settings) and LED indicator will blink green/orange to confirm this setting.
• alarm is triggered when PIR2 detects motion (outer curtain) and PIR1 (inner curtain)
detects motion within 10 seconds from PIR2’s detection. This setting is confirmed by
the red LED blinking. With this setting no alarm is triggered in the event of opposite
detection. Select the desired function with Use the red button to select the required
function and/or press the red/grey button to go to the following setting.
3.5) Excluding detector’s LED indicator.
The default setting is LED disabled. LED indicator
therefore operates only during TEST mode. TEST mode during setup is displayed by the red
LED indicator turning on without blinking. Press the red button to enable LED operations
during standard mode. Setting will be confirmed by the LED displaying green-orange-red
sequence. Press the red/grey button to return to item to 3.2 or 3.6.
3.6) Excluding detector’s anti-masking function.
The default setting of detectors
featuring this function is “normally disabled”. The setting is confirmed by the red LED
turned on fixed. Press the red button on the remote control to enable the anti-masking
function. Red LED will start blinking. Press the red/grey button to return to the point 3.2.
3.7) Exiting setup mode.
Press the red and green button of the remote control
simultaneously to return to the device’s TEST mode during any setup stage.
4) TEST:
A tamper alarm is triggered anytime that the unit is taken out from its location. To access
the unit’s TEST mode, enable TEST mode on the control panel before triggering tamper
alarm. TEST mode will be enabled on the unit after 5 seconds. The green LED turns on to
display PIR1 alarm, the orange LED turns on for PIR2 alarm and the red LED turns on to
confirm that alarm signal is being transmitted to the control panel. Place the unit back in
place and pass through the frame’s fixture (waving your hand is not enough). Check that the
alarm has been received by the control panel as it may be difficult to see the LED indicators
while you pass through the fixture. TEST mode is enabled for 3 minutes.
5) OTHER FEATURES
5.1) Tamper protection against removal
. The supplied two circular magnets trigger a
tamper alarm even when there is an attempt to tamper with the device using an external
magnet. Magnets must simply be inserted into the bracket before it is fastened to the
fixture’s frame. Magnets will automatically come out, thereby triggering an alarm, should
the device be separated with or without its bracket.
5.2) Anti masking function.
Place an obstacle in front of the lens of the device (5-10 cm)
to trigger a tamper alarm. Please take this into account when you wish to dust the device
and enable the control panel’s TEST mode prior to dusting.
Caution!It is likely that many insects shall reach the detector’s lens in view of the location
in which the unit is typical installed. An insect moving over the lens can trigger an alarm as
well as anti masking protection being activated.
5.3) Temperature compensation.
This function automatically increases sensitivity
when it is set to “low” or “average-low” if the detector’s internal temperature reaches
approximately 30°C. Exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided as much as possible
for this reason.
5.4) Supervision.
The detector reports its operating conditions to the control unit every
28 minutes. This signal is managed by AVE supervised control panels (see “supervision
function” of the employed control panel).
5.5) Battery life - replacement:
the need to change batteries is radio signalled to the
control panel at least 10 days before the machine stops operating. Battery life varies greatly
according to the number of alarms being triggered and how many times the LED indicator
is enabled. Battery life may exceed three years when protecting a window (being crossed
few times), while it considerably diminishes when used to protect a door according to how
frequently the door is being crossed.
Caution! Lithium batteries must be disposed of in special containers according to current
regulations, even when the device is being destroyed (in which case it must be removed
before destruction).

3.6) Anti-accecamento:
tale funzione di fabbrica è disattivata e tale stato è visualizzato dal
led rosso. Volendo attivarla premere il tasto rosso del telecomando: la luce rossa lampeggerà.
Col tasto grigio/rosso si ritorna al punto 3.2.
3.7) Uscita:
in ogni fase della programmazione, premendo contemporaneamente i tasti
rosso-verde del telecomando si torna allo stato di TEST dell’apparecchio.
4) TEST
Asportando l’apparecchio dalla sua sede si ha allarme manomissione (porre preventivamente
anche la centrale in modalità di TEST). Dopo 5 secondi l’apparecchio è in condizione di
test: la luce verde indica l’allarme del PIR1, quella arancio del PIR2 e la luce rossa indica
la effettiva trasmissione dell’allarme alla centrale. Riposizionare l’apparecchio e transitare
attraverso l’infisso (non solo sventolare una mano) e verificare l’allarme in centrale, poiché
può essere difficile vedere contemporaneamente le spie di segnalazione sull’apparecchio.
Lo stato di TEST permane per 3 minuti.
5) ALTRE CARATTERISTICHE DEL RIVELATORE
5.1) Protezione anti-asportazione:
i due magneti circolari previsti realizzano
l’antimanomissione anche nel caso di tentativo di sabotaggio con un magnete esterno.
Essi vanno semplicemente inseriti prima di avvitare la staffa sull’infisso: in caso di distacco
del rivelatore completo di staffa fuoriescono automaticamente, provocando allarme
manomissione, come nel caso di distacco del solo rivelatore.
5.2) Protezione anti-accecamento:
ponendo un ostacolo davanti alla lente dell’apparecchio
(5-10 cm) si provoca allarme manomissione, pertanto, qualora si voglia spolverare
l’apparecchio occorre prima porre la centrale in TEST.
Attenzione!
Data la posizione di installazione tipica, è probabile che insetti vari si posino
sulla lente del rivelatore: questo può comportare sia l’intervento dell’anti-accecamento, sia
l’allarme, qualora l’insetto si muova sulla lente.
5.3) Compensazione di temperatura:
la funzione comporta l’aumento automatico della
sensibilità (solo se regolata “bassa” o “medio bassa”) quando la temperatura interna del
rivelatore è intorno ai 30°C. Per questo occorre evitare il più possibile la sua esposizione
alla luce solare diretta.
5.4) Supervisione:
il rivelatore trasmette un segnale di esistenza in vita ogni 28 minuti
circa, che viene gestito dalle centrali supervisionate AVE - vedere “funzione supervisione”
delle centrali utilizzate.
5.5) Autonomia dell’apparecchio - sostituzione batterie:
la necessità di cambiare le
batterie viene segnalata via radio alla centrale almeno 10 giorni prima che l’apparecchio
smetta di funzionare. La durata delle batterie è estremamente variabile ed inversamente
proporzionale al numero degli allarmi e dell’utilizzo o meno del led. Nel caso di protezione di
una finestra (scarsi transiti) , l’autonomia può superare i tre anni, mentre su una porta essa
si riduce anche notevolmente, in funzione del numero dei transiti.
Attenzione!
La batteria al litio va smaltita negli appositi raccoglitori secondo le norme vigenti,
anche nel caso di rottamazione dell’apparecchio, dal quale dovrà essere preventivamente
estratta.

1) Operation:
this device is a PIR (passive infra-red) motion detector that detects an intruder by capturing
its different temperature compared to background temperature and triggers an alarm. The
front panel’s red LED indicator displays detection.
The device was designed to be installed in the corner of doors and windows to signal when
same are being crossed. It employs two internal sensor and a lens to create two vertical
barrier curtains: one curtain is formed directly into the opening of the fixture, while the other
develops inwards, up to 8 meters towards the bottom.
The alarm is triggered when both curtains are crossed from one side or the other. AF975R-
DB is powered by a lithium CR 123 battery with approximately a 3 year battery life. Battery
life varies based on how many times the fixture is crosses triggering the alarm. The unit
is temporarily disabled for 2 minutes after each alarm to limit battery power use. Use
Siletron’s remote control to configure settings according to access area’s requirements
without having to open the device. AF975R-DB feature tamper protection against opening
and removal. AF975R-DB is compatible with all wireless Dual Band AVE control panels
Dual Band.
2) Positioning and installation:
the device must be installed on a corner of the frame, between the windowand shutter
or rolling shutter, using the appropriate support. Make sure that one of the two barriers
develops towards the outside of the opening (see drawings). Moving objects/people/
animals should not be in the protected area when the device is being armed (check outdoor
and indoor curtains).
Caution:before establishing the device’s permanent location, make sure that the position
selected for the unit is within the radio range of the control panel by setting control panel’s
TEST MODE and by checking that same receives an adequately strong radio signal.
Caution! Select a location where the lens is not hit by direct sunlight. Ensure that the
device is never fully in the sunlight when shutter or blinds are being used as the bright light
increases sensitivity and masking protection activation (see 5.2 - 5.3).
Caution! Both protection magnets must be placed in the bracket’s appropriate compartments
and do not require fastening.
3) Setting up the detector in the system (this unit is compatible with AVE control
panels as well as with the receivers listed in the catalogue).
Enable learning mode on the control panel and place battery into the detector (the control
panel will confirm operation. You must use any AVE 4 key remote control to setup the unit.
During setup, you must set the control panel in TEST mode to avoid untimely alarms.
Appropriate procedure:once the device has been setup using the control panel, wait 60
seconds and check radio range by triggering alarms from where you plan to install the unit.
AF975R-DB will continue to be in TEST mode until Tamper attempts are acknowledged
and for 3 additional minutes. Fasten the bracket with its magnets and place the unit in the
bracket. The green LED will turn on for 5 seconds when the two tamper protections are in
place. The anti masking circuit will be regulated as soon as the LED switches off. Ensure
that no objects are located in front of the lens when calibration takes place.
