1.0 METHOD OF INTEGRATION
RS-232/SMDI using the VoiceBridge Series II with bridged mode. The Voice-
Bridge communicates with the Avaya Definity by emulating the
7434D
Digital
Display
set. When a call is received by the VoiceBridge,
it
simultaneously rings at a bridged analog appearance corresponding to an
Octel 100 voice port.
The digital display provides call information. The
VoiceBridge collects this data and transmits the call information to the Octel
100 through a serial port using industry standard Centrex SMDI protocol. The
Octel 100 then immediately answers the call with the appropriate greeting.
Message waiting indicators are set and canceled via the VoiceBridge using
Avaya Leave Word Calling feature. A hookflash followed by the extension
transfers the caller to the operator.
Communication between the
Definity G3 and the Octel 100 is
through the VoiceBridge using
the Bridged Method.
