Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Avantes AvaLight-CAL-(AR/NEON)-Mini. This complete new developed
light source will provide outstanding performance. To get the best of its performance it perfectly
matches all Avantes AvaSpec spectrometers.
The AvaLight-CAL-MINI series is a smaller version of the AvaLight-CAL series. The new AvaLight-CAL-
MINI series has a new feature called the Disable function.
With the Disable function the user is able to turn off the light source to safe power and lifetime.
The AvaLight-CAL-MINI series is available with three different light bulbs.
The “default” bulb that is used in the AvaLight-CAL-MINI is the mercury bulb.
The AvaLight-CAL-AR-MINI uses an argon bulb and the AvaLight-CAL-NEON-MINI uses a neon bulb.
The AvaLight-CAL-MINI stays below the exempt limit for the actinic UV and near UV of the EN-IEC
62471 Photo biological Safety Assessment. Therefore no additional measures are required for the
AvaLight-CAL-MINI. However, the below stated warning should be taken into account.
Caution:
This lamp produces ultraviolet radiation, which can be harmful to the eyes.
We advise to NOT LOOK INTO THE LIGHT BEAM.
This could cause eye damage, we advise to take the appropriate measures.
