PREPARATION
Before connecting your Avancer Kettle to a power point, check that you are connected to 220-240V AC
50Hz mains power, which is the standard in Australian households.
Your Avancer Kettle must be earthed and should be disconnected from mains power when not in use. Do
not allow your Kettle to be exposed to rain or moisture outside normal use
Application
Filling your Kettle
1. Ensure that the Kettle is lifted off the base before filling.
2. To fill the kettle, press the button on the handle and the lid will open. You can then place under the tap
3. Fill to the desired level (Min 0.6 L~Max.1.7L)
4. Close the lid by pressing it down until it clicks into place.
Switching On/Off
1. Connect the Plug to a 240V power point.
2. To switch on the kettle, press the power switch on the base. The power indicator light will then turn on.
3. You can adjust the temperature the kettle by sliding your finger along the scale at any point. The range is
40-100 degrees.
You can see advised temperatures for different applications on the side of the kettle.
4. When the water has boiled the kettle will automatically switch itself off.
5. You can halt the boiling process at any time by turning the kettle off
– by pressing the power button. The
power indicator light will then turn off.
Keep Warm
1. You can activate the keep warm function after boiling.
2. Press the keep warm button on the right of the base. The lights on the base will be illuminated and you
can select the temperature to maintain.
3. The kettle will automatically keep the water at this temperature for 30 minutes.
Cleaning and Maintenance
First read the instructions in the section t
itled “SAFETY WARNINGS”.
Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents.
Descaling
For normal use, descale the kettle at least twice a year by following the procedure below:
TO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE KETTLE:
1. Use a kettle de-scaling solution available from most supermarkets or household suppliers, OR
2. Fill the kettle with 0.5L white vinegar and the remainder with water and allow to stand for 1 hour.
3. Empty the solution from the kettle. Wipe off the deposits with a damp cloth
4. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to boil and then discard the water. Repeat and the kettle will be
ready to use.
5. If necessary, repeat the operations above several times.
