5.3 Fire simulation test
To ensure that the aspirating detector functions properly, and to check
the integrity of the pipe system, a fire simulation test should be
implemented. This test should be as realistic as possible, and the fire
should involve the same type of material that can be expected to be
found in the monitored fire zones.
NB!
When a fire simulation test is implemented, the location of the fire
should be drawn in on a copy of the system design drawings.
The time it takes to give alarm should also be noted here.
The drawing should be filed for reference purposes when servicing
the system.
