OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER OPERATION
Your Car-Pro security system comes with two 3-button remote control transmitters that feature a
sophisticated code hopping system that will prevent illegal use of a code grabber with an attempt
to record and steal your transmitter codes.
ARM/DISARM FUNCTIONS
To arm your alarm system, press the LOCK button. The siren will chirp (1) time and the parking
lights will flash (1) time indicating that your system is now armed. Press the UNLOCK button
and the siren will chirp (2) times and the parking lights will flash (2) times indicating that the
alarm is now disarmed. If you have the keyless entry feature installed, the vehicle doors will lock
upon arming and unlock upon disarming
DELETING THE ARM/DISARM CHIRP
When attempting to arm or disarm your security system, you have the option of temporarily
muting the siren chirp sound. To perform this function, simply depress the LOCK and UNLOCK
buttons on the remote control transmitter at the same time. No chirp sound will be heard, so you
may confirm the arm/disarm function by watching the parking lights flash.
REMOTE PANIC FUNCTION
The remote control may be used as a remote panic switch that will activate the alarm’s siren and
parking lights in case of an emergency. To activate PANIC, press and hold the LOCK button on
the remote transmitter for (3) seconds. The siren will sound and the parking lights will flash
continuously. To stop the PANIC, press the LOCK button on the remote.
SECOND CHANNEL / TRUNK FUNCTION
You may use the “Trunk” icon button on your transmitter for a separate function. For example, if
your vehicle has electronic trunk release and the alarm has been connected to it, you may
release your trunk by pressing the “Trunk” icon button on the remote control.
CHANGING THE TRANSMITTER BATTERY
The remote control transmitters come with (1) miniature 12-volt battery. Under normal use this
battery should have a life of approximately one year. If you should need to replace your battery
you may want to return to your installing dealer. You may also wish to change the battery by
yourself. When purchasing the battery be sure to purchase any of the following: GP23A,
#EL12, #VR22 or Radio Shack #23-144.
To replace the battery, carefully remove the case screw located on the bottom of the transmitter
where the key ring attaches to the case.
Use a small blade Phillips head!
After removing the screw, carefully pop open the plastic case. Before removing the battery note
the direction of its “+/-“ terminals. Install the new battery exactly the same way using caution not
to bend the battery contacts. Replace the case cover and insert and tighten the screw.
Do not
over tighten!
Test the transmitter.
SYSTEM OPERATION
OVERRIDE FUNCTION
The OVERRIDE FUNCTION may be used if the remote transmitter is lost or inoperative. To
operate, enter the vehicle (alarm will sound), switch the ignition to “ON” and within 10 seconds
push the red override button and release. The alarm will stop and is disarmed. Have your
remote transmitter serviced or replaced.

a car wash, or valet attendant parking. To activate valet, turn the ignition “ON”, then push and
hold the red valet/override switch for 2 seconds or until the red LED comes to solid ON. Turn
the ignition “OFF”; your vehicle is now in valet. To reactivate, repeat the above procedure noting
the red LED will now turn OFF.
Note: If your vehicle has the Keyless Entry option installed, you can still lock and unlock your
doors with remote transmitter while in the Valet Mode.
PASSIVE/MANUAL OPERATION
Manual Arming / Disarming is controlling your security system via the remote control transmitter.
If you have chosen the optional Passive Arming feature, the system can be armed as below:
Turn the vehicle’s ignition “Off” and exit the vehicle
After all entrances are closed, the red LED will flash fast for 30 seconds. If you re-open an
entrance the LED will stop flashing. It will begin flashing again once the entrance is closed.
After the 30 seconds of time has elapsed, the security system will automatically “ARM”. The
siren will chirp (1) time and the parking lights will flash (1) time.
Note:
If the keyless entry feature has been installed, the doors will automatically lock after the
passive arming cycle has been completed. If this feature is not desired, see your local dealer
and have the alarm programmed to eliminate passive door
locking.
AUTOMATIC REARMING
(OPTIONAL)
If this feature is chosen, the security system will automatically re-arm itself 60 seconds after disarming the
system. Automatic rearm will cancel if any entrance is opened before the 60 seconds of time has elapsed.
IGNITION CONTROL DOOR LOCKS
(OPTIONAL)
If the keyless entry feature of the alarm is connected, this option will automatically lock the doors when
the ignition is turned “On” and unlock the doors when the ignition is turned “Off”.
Note:
If any entrance
is open when the ignition is turned “On”, the doors will not lock automatically. Doors will have to be
locked by the factory locking system.
