OPERATING TIPS
1.
The AS-9151N Remote Starter is always ready to be activated after leaving
the vehicle.
A.
Turn the ignition key off, and remove the key.
B.
Be sure the control switch is in the ON position.
C.
Exit the vehicle. The remote starter control module is now in the stand-
by mode, and it will start the vehicle when the signal from the alarm is
received. When the remote start signal is received, the parking lights will
turn on (or flash) as a visual indication that the vehicle is running.
2.
To operate the vehicle after remotely starting;
A.
Enter the vehicle, and turn the ignition key to the ON position. (Do not turn
the key to the spring loaded start position, as this will cause the starter
motor to grind).
B.
Tapping the brake, or shifting the transmission, will cause the remote start
control module to disengage, and the vehicle will remain running on its
own power.
C.
The remote starter will shut off after 10 or 15 minutes (selectable at time
of installation) if the car is not occupied within this time limit.
SAFETY FEATURES
1.
The control switch functions as an ON / OFF switch. It is recommended that
during servicing of the vehicle, the switch is placed in the OFF position. This
will turn the remote start off, and eliminate any possibility of accidental starting
while the work is being performed.
2.
The vehicle will not start if the hood is opened, or if the vehicle has been shifted
out of park.
3.
Pressing the brake pedal will turn the remote start module off immediately.
4.
The AS-9151N remote starter has additional shutdown features, which can be
used in some vehicles. Check with the installer to see if any additional
shutdown features were installed.
