Power: Transformers rated at 200 Watts RMS continuous (600 Watts audio) 35Hz-20kHz
Load: Match up to 12 pairs of 4 or 8 Ohm speakers with all on simultaneously.
Mounting: Mud rings must be used with installation. The out board transformers fit into
standard wall space.
Connections: Wago connectors.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The INW-12 switches up to 12 pairs of 4, 8 Ohm or higher impedance speakers in any
combination, while maintaining a safe load to the amplifier. The load protection is achieved by use of an
impedance matching transformer, which offers several significant advantages. There is little or no heat developed
whether one or all the speakers are operating simultaneously, so no fire hazard exists with the in-wall switcher.
IMPORTANT
The INW-12 is supplied with two impedance matching jumpers that are normally connected to the X16
position, which multiplies the speaker impedance to 16 times the nominal value. Thus if 12 pairs of 4 Ohm
speakers are switched on at the same time, the parallel impedance load would be .33 Ohms. The transformer
setting multiplies the impedance by 16, so the total load to the amplifier appears as 5.3 Ohms. The jumper settings
can be adjusted to accommodate different situations.
INSTALLING THE INW-12
A screwdriver is inserted into the Wago connector with a rocking motion to the stop. The screwdriver is
captivated, holding the cage-clamp open, while the wire is inserted. The screwdriver is withdrawn and the wire is
automatically clamped.
