4.15 Range
information
The range of the mobile unit is ca. 50 metres in closed rooms and ca.
300 metres outdoors. You will hear warning tones if you are too far away
from the base station. In this case, move nearer to the base station once
more, as otherwise the call will be interrupted.
4.16 Setting the ring tone
The mobile unit can respond with 9 different ring tones when a call
comes through.
1. Press
the button three times until the message
RUF MEL
(RING TONE) appears.
2. Now select the required ring tone by pressing the numbers 1 to 9.
3. Confirm the selection with the
button.
4.17 Setting the ring tone volume
The volume of the ring tone can be adjusted in four steps. If at any time
you do not want to be disturbed, you can also turn the volume off
altogether.
1. Press
the button twice until the message
RUF LAUT
(RING
VOL) appears.

Now select the required volume by pressing the numbers.
1 = Low
2 = Medium
3 = High
4 = Increasing
0 = off

Confirm the selection with the
button and the display will
briefly show
GESPEICHER
(STORED).
4.18 Logging off the mobile unit
The PORTY mobile unit can only be logged off via the main mobile unit
on your existing base station. Look in the operating instructions for your
existing telephone to find out how to log off mobile units.
