copy firmware 

This command upgrades the device’s firmware. 

Syntax: 

The syntax of this command can include the following variations: 

copy firmware from 

<URL>

 

 

The command’s syntax format is described below: 

Arguments 

Description 

from  

Copy the firmware file from URL file source 

<URL> 

File source URL. Can be one of: http, https, 

tftp

 or nfs. 

Defaults: 

NA 

Notes: 

Upon invoking this command: 
1.  The new firmware is copied and burned to the non-volatile (NV) memory of the device. 
2.  The current running configuration (voice and data) is saved on the NV memory as well. 
3.  The device automatically reloads with the new firmware.
