Do not connect the balanced XLR input
connectors and single-ended RCA input
connectors at the same time – connect
one pair or the other the same way for
both channels.
Input Connectors
The Reference 80S uses a fully balanced
circuit topology and has a pair of balanced
XLR input connectors and a pair of single-
ended RCA input connectors on the rear
panel. The rear panel switch must be in
the appropriate labeled position for either
balanced or single-ended use. Connect
your preamplifier’s output to the Reference
80S input connectorsbefore turning on the
amplifier.
