Console Linking
Console Linking

CONSOLE LINK

When linking consoles, it is usually
necessary to couple the
VCA and Auto-
VCA and Auto-
mation systems.
mation systems.
To link the automation
controllers simply connect the 9-pin D-
sub female ‘Console link’ connectors
housed on the Input/PSU connector
panel. When linked, the two automation
controllers operate completely in parallel
with no Master/Slave hierarchy imposed.
A second 9-pin D-sub male connector
provides an RS232 port for future func-
tionality.
When coupling the VCA control voltages
it is necessary to decide which console
will act as the Master and which as the
Slave. Having decided on the required
format, link from the 15-pin D-sub VCA
OUTPUT of the Master console to the
15-pin D-sub VCA INPUT of the Slave
console. The VCA Sub-Group faders of
the Slave console will be automatically
disabled when this connection is made.
